New Binks Airless 75 spray gun
Binks has introduced a new airless gun, the “Airless 75 Spray Gun” for a maximum pressure of 7500 PSI. Unique needle design and packing are the special features of this gun, i.e. the needle is kept out of the fluid’s path, and the packing is adjustable for longer life.
Two fluid inlet options are available:
1) The gun has an external stainless steel fluid tube (Part No. 0811-7500-1) with an optional heat guard that allows the use of heated coatings up to 175°F (79°C).
2) At the Binks Airless 75 Direct Connect model (Part No. 0811-7500-2) the fluid hose is attached directly to the gun.

Due to the thick-walled stainless steel fluid tube and fluid passages made of tungsten carbide, this gun is compatible with almost any coating, from stain to zinc, including high solids and abrasive industrial materials. The gun has also a stress reducing ergonomic handle and a two finger trigger. This combination gives the operator more control, and better leverage of the spray gun. Tips of the week: from air hose size to mixing of two component materials
Since the introduction of the first cold water paint spray system in the year 1892, the company Binks has continuously introduced new products and services in the field of spray coating, from HVLP spray guns and airless spray systems to the latest pump technologies (incl. diaphragm pumps and horizontal piston pumps). The company has always put a special focus on customer service, and the website (www.binks.com) is an important part of it containing information on new product developments, service instructions, operator manuals and also a “Tip of the week” category. This popular category contains tips and information on topics such as:
What is the difference between Conventional, HVLP, Turbine HVLP and Trans-Tech (LVMP) technologies?
How do I get the pump to prime, especially first thing in the morning after it’s been sitting all night?
What size air hose should I use for my spray gun?
What is the minimum velocity of paint in a circulating system?
What is the difference between a valve and a regulator?
What causes excessive pressure drop on the main line gauge of the filter/regulator?

Binks Gelmaster: the Gel Coat Unit that catalyses externally
One of the main features of the Binks Gelmaster unit model 105-1138 is the externally mixed catalyst, i.e. catalyst is delivered by and trough the atomisation air and is

then intimately mixed with the resin leading to a clear and air free sprayed gel coat film. The advantages are that no flushing is necessary and that the external catalyst delivery is clearly visible to the operator. This model is very suitable for multi-coloured operation as a quick colour change is possible. The unit includes spray gun, 20 litre pressure tank, air filtration, extractor and control components. Yacht builder Regal relies on Binks gel coating equipment
Two things can make boat hull and parts production a real headache: a gel coating operation which is constantly plagued by porosity and small air bubbles due to poor mixture control. And secondly, the gel coating equipment is unreliable and production often interrupted. Yacht builder Regal relies on the spray coating equipment of Binks to avoid such problems. Reduced Energy and Material Consumption in Compressed Air Installations
Reduced Energy and Material Consumption in Compressed Air Installations
The Air Matic system of company ENSUTEC Products GmbH (Germany) is a newly developed and patented technology for compressed air installations that leads to energy savings, improved material efficiency and less overspray. It can be easily integrated into existing facilities such as paint shops or spray booth.
The Process: Cleaning – Ionizing – Heating
The Air Matic process includes the cleaning, ionizing and heating of the compressed air. The employment of 2-3 filter elements leads to clean compressed air that meets highest air purity standards (e.g. ISO 8573-1, category 1), and even surpasses strict standards when it comes to oil vapour- and oil dust filtering.

Spray booth with Air Matic technology
The high-purity compressed air can be variable adjusted to the optimal temperature in a range of 0-140° Celsius. The elevated temperature, in connection with the static discharged air, relaxes the paint much better, allows finer atomization and improved transfer efficiency in spray coating applications such as wet painting (solvent based, water based), adhesive spraying (incl. hot wax), mould making and other manual and automated applications. The system works well in connection with conventional spray guns, HVLP guns, Air Mix-technology, flat-coaters and robot facilities.
Improved Quality – Less Overspray
The Air Matic system amortises very fast, mainly due to improved parts quality. The very fine atomization and high-purity of compressed air reduces possible reworks like grinding, polishing etc. Another advantage is overspray reduction: the gentle coating with higher transfer efficiency is able to save over 10% coating material. The advantages at a glance:
Quality: finer atomization, a more even, softer spray pattern

Air Matic 3000W with Cefla flat-coater
Energy: reduction of compressed air consumption (10-30%), reduction of atomization pressure, reduction of drying time
Material: less overspray and higher transfer efficiency leads to less material consumption (10-20%) and less thinner consumption (30-60%)
Technology: no formation of condensate, constant air temperature, no additional filter elements required.
The Air Matic system is compact, available in three different sizes (500W, 1500W and 3000W) and can be easily integrated into existing facilities. It is almost maintenance-free, only filters should be changed at given time. For more information contact us: info@bsc-teknik.com
Binks: Air Driven Pump with Quick Exhaust Technology
The new Binks Maple 15/3 pump is a horizontal piston pump for pumping solvent/waterborne paints, solvents and other suitable materials. The unit combines an

energy efficient air motor with low shear fluid section technology from the range of Smart Electric Pumps. The Maple Pump achieves a reciprocating drive by using high technology ground steel spool and sleeve air valves to control the air motor reversal, providing reciprocating motion.
The patented air valve design ensures a positive magnetic detent for the main and pilot air valves thus removing the possibility for a stall condition. The air motor also utilises the patented Binks Low Ice quick exhaust technology to prevent air valve freezing conditions when high cycle speeds are employed. Equal thrust on each stroke due to the horizontal configuration incorporating the dual piston rod design gives a balanced fluid pressure output and reduces fluid pressure fluctuations to a minimum.
