Contamination of the paint or fluid is a common problem in spray coating applications. In order to reduce contamination to a minimum it is recommended to install a filter directly to the fluid inlet of the spray gun, for instance the VSA-512 paint filter of Devilbiss for low pressure spray guns. The filter housing of the VSA-512 is made of stainless steel, and the plastic filter elements are available in the mesh sizes 60, 112 and 280 microns. This gun mounted filter is suitable for solvent and waterborne paints. Due to the universal 3/8″ female thread, the filter fits onto all 3/8″ threaded guns (either NPS or BSP, manual or automatic).
